If any of my posts blow up please let it be this one:

Australia is currently petitioning to make it that all gender confirming surgeries for transgender individuals are covered by Medicare. This is absolutely huge as surgeries are super expensive even with private health insurance.

It doesn’t ask for an address or phone number or anything so I think anyone in the world can sign for it? But I’m not entirely sure.

EDIT: yeah you gotta be a citizen, so if you’re outside the country, if you could reblog this to reach more Australians, this would be amazing!

Here’s the petition link:

Please reblog this and spread it as far and wide as you can, this is super important!

That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

Reblog if you:

  • Have an iPhone and are in need of repairs
  • Have a friend with that problem
  • Hate Apple and are more than happy to spite them in some way

No one will know which is it

This guy inspired me to repair my own macbook. First of all, you should know that I am not… like, I have to look up HOW to look up what my computer specifications are. Tech, that ware either soft or hard, is not a subject in which I experience comfort or competence.

But my puppy peed on my keyboard, and I asked the apple store, or the fucking mac cafe, or the godsdamn Computer House Chill Zone or whatever cute ass name they have for their bullshit store, and they said it would be TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE MY KEYBOARD. I’m not even exaggerating.

So I asked the internet, well how hard IS it to repair? And I saw this guy’s video, and while I am no techie, I AM fueled by spite, so I was all “oh, they do that shit on purpose specifically so they can charge me $1200 bucks or make me buy a new computer hunh? FUCK THEM” and I bought all the tools I needed for about $25 and I bought all the parts I needed for about another $25 and I watched a few tutorial videos, and I replaced my own keyboard.

So, once you are doing the actual deed, it becomes pretty obvious that they are finding creative ways to make this much harder than it has to be on purpose. On thing that stood out to me is, instead of all the tiny screws being the same size, there are about two dozen very slightly different sizes. They could easily be all the same size, or like, two sizes at most, but no.

These mother fuckers will take a panel that screws into place and they’ll use a different size screw for each corner. They are so close that you almost cannot tell them apart visually, but they each will only screw into the matching corner. Like, it’s a pretty clear “fuck you” to anyone trying to do repairs.

anyway, this guy is also fueled by spite, and doing holy work, and I have mad respect

This is awesome. Man is doing good ass deeds 24/7 because he’s giving people control.

How dare you not leave a link to his channel, this guy is the savior of the modern world.

My intestines are collapsing in on itself but I’m being sooooo brave about it.

Could you help a black disabled dude get medication for it? I have been struggling with severe pain for it for two years now and the only meds that worked I stopped taking over a year ago cuz for SOME REASON my insurance will no longer cover it and the medication my gastroenterologist replaced it with sucks. It’s around $100. Any amount would help. Reblogs are encouraged.

No but seriously as I’ve gotten older I realize more and more that although white gays do face certain levels of oppression they are still white people…..like does that make sense?

Like yes a white lesbian has some form oppression against her but she’s still a white woman….. and the same thing for white gay men and white trans men and women like they’re still white !!!!!!

Like I don’t mean this in a rude way but like if we’re going to be honest about the lgbtq community we should also talk about how the white people in said community oppress poc and it doesn’t change just because they’re in a minority group they’re still white people

And like personally I’ve seen that white lgbtq ppl hate when you bring up that their still white because they’ve separated themselves in their mind as being better but they’re still white!!!

Hello white people should definitely be looking at this and reblogging it lmaooo

Love that this is getting attention again but y’all please reblog my gfm and donate if you can lol literally if every person from this venmod me $1 I would have reached my goal like twice over

If 300 people donate $21 I will complete my goal.

If like 6,000 of y’all would donate $1 I could complete my goal!!!!

PLEASE READ. WILL NOT HURT TO AND FORWARD.

Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles
and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens, on driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the rubbish, but you’ll never make it!!!

If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with enough force to remove some your extremities. The liquid that comes out is
boiling hot as well.

Don’t pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the gutter, etc.

Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a cap. A little Drano. A little water. A small piece of foil.
Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!! No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.

Please ensure that everyone that may not have email access are also informed of this.

Snopes confirms.

I’ve dealt with these before. If you find one:

  • Do not touch it
  • Do not touch it
  • Clear the area around it. It will explode on its own in time.
  • Once it explodes, do not make contact with the liquid inside. If needed, flush it away with large amounts of water.
  • Do not try to detonate it. You’ll probably be disfigured.

I’ve seen what these can do. The acidic liquid inside can strip the paint off a car.

when i visited vancouver these were everywhere. it’s not a fucking joke they’re actually scary

Just a reminder that there are awful shitty people out there doing awful shitty things to everyone else

there was a bunch of these at disneyland

i found one in my back yard, when i let my dogs out, i pulled them back inside, took my cousins bb shotgun and shot it from a safe distance (i was in my house and shot from the screen door. When it went off, my family and neighbors came running to see if everything was ok. I told them what happened and to watch out for them.

These things are not a joke! When we went to check the damage there was a fucking hole in the ground. The dirt in my yard is like CLAY.

This shit is bad news

PLEASE DON’T BE AN ASSHAT. PLEASE DON’T LEAVE BOMBS IN PEOPLE’S YARDS.

Please spread this information!

the one fucking time I actually will signal boost cuz I didn’t know about this and would never ever wanna learn about it first hand

we actually had the bomb squad called to our house for something like this and it totally ruined the paint on my big bro’s car.  :c

@takashi0

Shared before, but sharing again.

this isnt my blog type but its really important

Please be aware and be careful. These can harm people, pets, property and wildlife.

If you see one, keep your distance and wait for it to go off on its own.

My brother delt with one by putting a large metal bowl over it, but that’s extremely dangerous as well.

Be safe please.

SIGNAL BOOST. I HAVEN’T SEEN THESE BUT WILL KEEP A LOOK OUT.

[My chemistry professor told us about these this week because we’ve been learning about the main ingredient in Draino, Sodium Hydroxide.]

wtf who does that??

just be safe everyone!!

Tim’s liver is falling.

Fuck.

Fuck

fuck

Please, Tim needs $225 for the meds that are supposed to stabilize his liver and keep him from going septic. I’m trying to help him process all of this and be present for him and I’m just utterly under-fucking-qualified and I can’t cover this.

His doc is saying he might make it to Christmas. On the outside. Might.

I don’t know how to process this. I don’t know how to help. I don’t know what to do.

Please help.

I’m a very messy person who tries VERY HARD to keep a clean home. It’s probably ADHD. Anyway, the best advice I ever saw about it was:

“Instead of changing your habits to keep clean, look at where the clutter is. Now put a bin under it.”

I tend to remove my socks at the computer and then there’s a mountain of socks on the floor? I put a small bin and now it looks tidy. There are piles of junk mail on the table near my front door because I can never bring them to the recycling bin? I put a smaller recycling bin there. Etc etc.

Another trick that helps me immensely are BOXES.

The bathroom sink is covered in small bottles and all sorts of products? I got small plastic crates and I put them over the toilet lid, one for my stuff, the other for my roomate’s. The linen closet is just piles of things that fall when you open the door? Baby I just got a bunch of baskets and I will separate them by function.

I have baskets and small boyxes for: my cleaning products; my bird’s toys and stuff; my workout accessories; my meds and daily skincare products; my tools; and pretty much all my art stuff.

It still takes some effort to keep everything in its place, but having everything in a box still looks tons better than having everything on the counter, and it’s so better for the mental health.

After YEARS of a perpetually messy room with clothes all over the floor… I cleared off two shelves of my bookshelves. Clothes go there if they aren’t ready for laundry yet.

One change, and my floors are clear. And because they’re clear, they’re easier to keep clean.

One of the principles of design is that you have to design things according to how human beings act, not how you think they ought to act. That goes for designing your own space as well: organize for the you that you are, not the you that you think you ought to become.

All of this. I also call this the “Fuck Pinterest” principle of home organization. What matters is not a theoretical best practice but what will help your individual life in your own specific space.

This is my entire philosophy to home organization. “You’re not going to change, so change your space to suit you.” Why do we spend so much time and energy trying to be someone who walks down the hall to the closet to hang a coat when we can just put a hook next to the door? After living alone for a few years, you know the habits that are there to stay. Find the habits and put bins under them.

to anyone who wants to watch the mitchells vs. the machines & is prone to flashing lights: PLEASE be careful. this movie is incredibly good but it does have a lot of segments that involve strobing lights and bright colors that may be hard to watch if you’re photosensitive. if you’re going to watch it and you struggle w those issues look out for any fight scenes/scenes involving the robots because those are where they tend to pop up the most. again this movie is REALLY good but if you’re going to watch it, be aware that it involves a lot of flashing lights and be on the watch for those scenes in particular

late addon but please don’t rb this and tag it w something along the lines of “flashing lights tw”. even tho this post is centered around it, the post doesn’t contain any flashing imagery in and of itself and tagging it like that could unintentionally blacklist it for those who have that tagged blocked. this is a serious warning for ppl with photosensitivity issues and it needs to reach anyone w them who might watch the movie w/o knowing the flashing scenes are there. coming from someone w issues w photosensitivity please stop rbing warnings that don’t show any imagery w “flashing lights tw” as it does nothing to warn the ppl that are going to be affected by said imagery.

nice job glossing over that last part guys

doesn’t Tumblr now block the post when the blocked words are anywhere in the post not just the tags? Like if I say “spider” and someone has blocked the tags spider, they won’t be able to see this?

which means, won’t people who have “flashing lights” tags blocked, have this post blocked too?

no, those are two separate features. there’s a feature that blocks tags, and a feature that blocks certain words

oh perfect!

Thank you!
